Razor-sharp, gemmy and lustrous, clove-brown axinite blades to 1.8 cm form a fine specimen from the Colebrook Hill Mine of Tasmania. The crystals are also beautifully striated. The large crystal has just a barely noticeable touch of edge-wear on the left side; the rest of the crystals are pristine. I am not familiar with this locale, but would compare these with the best of France or California. This locale is noted for fine axinites. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
