A sparkling small cabinet plate of Pyrite on Calcite from China displaying two generations of Pyrite. This is a showy piece displaying blue, green, yellow and orange iridescent Pyrite deposition on select corners and edges of the Calcite crystals along with an earlier stage of tightly clustered, small cubo-octahedral Pyrite at one end of the piece. The thick, gray-white, pearly lustered, disc-shaped Calcites measure up to 3cm across, are lightly striated and these striations are highlighted by a dusting of micro-Pyrite crystals. Attractive!
