Langbanite is an very rare silicate, found in only 5 localities worldwide. The Langban manganese-iron deposit of Sweden is the Type Locality. This cabinet manganese ore specimen is essentially solid langbanite and the black langbanite microcrystals are beautifully complimented by the rose-red rhodonite crystals. Ex. Yale Peabody Museum Collection.
