Tarnowitzite has an attraction all its own, particularly when the crystals are 'snow-capped', as they are here. This small cab is an impressive, old-time cluster of large Plumboan (lead-rich) Aragonite variety Tarnowitzite crystals from the great Tsumeb Mine. The crystals, which range up to 1.7 cm, have excellent pearlescent luster, well-formed pyramidal terminations, and tapered bodies. The cream color is complemented nicely by the light terminations. Two interior crystals are missing from the left side, with all the remaining crystals being in fine condition. The fluorescence is delicate and lovely. Overall, a very good, desirable specimen with good aesthetics. Old! She bought this in the 1970s when it was already old and out of the ground some years, as I believe these date to the early 1900s and the first oxide zone at Tsumeb.
