A fine and historic specimen of Gold from the Idarado mine. The platy crystals have a lustrous, bright, metallic appearance, and stand out beautifully against the snow-white Quartz matrix. Along the back "ridge" of the specimen, one can clearly see a patch of muted forest-green "Chlorite" crystals (most likely Clinochlore) which is highly indicative of the Idarado Mine. It was collected by Clancy Fleetwood (Brian Kosnar's great-grandfather) in 1946. The piece later became part of the famous Colorado mineral collection of Richard Kosnar, whose hand-painted label is on the bottom of the specimen. From the 650 Level, Tomboy Vein.
