The famous purple and blue Vivianites, found at the Blackbird Mine in the 1960s, are considered to be a US classic. The unique coloration is unmistakable, and the excellent luster and subtle gemminess add to the attraction of this piece. The largest crystal is 1.2 cm, and the cluster displays well, with the larger, individual crystals splaying quite nicely. Old and choice material, these remain the finest Vivianites ever from the USA, and the aesthetics of this thumbnail attest to that.
