Schefferite is the very rare manganoan variety of diopside and was originally described from the Langban deposit. Two sharp, terminated blades to 1.1 cm are attractively set on a lined vug atop matrix on this fine specimen. Note the high luster and red translucency of the crystals. Very rare on the market.
