The world's finest red spinels are associated with the finest rubies in Mogok, Burma. This glassy and gemmy, cherry red spinel octahedron measures about 9 mm across and is aesthetically perched on contrasting white matirx. It is exceptionally bright and lustrous. Jack purchased this specimen from now-deceased California collector and dealer J.P. Cand in the late 1990s. Ex. Jack Halpern Collection.
