A rich, hefty cabinet specimen of braunite ore with calcite veinlets and abundant, well-formed, black, metallic, scintillating crystals of quenselite to 0.5mm. The mineral also occurs as dense, fine, granular massive aggregates along the fracture surface. Quenselite is a lead manganese oxide-hydroxide. The piece comes with Swedish Museum of Natural History and Paulo Matioli labels. From the type locality at Langban, Filipstad, Varmland, Sweden. Ex. Paulo Matioli collection.
