Just a lovely Tsumeb Dioptase piece with two generations of the mineral on the best possible matrix of contrasting calcite. The first generation is characterized by tiny, <1mm Dioptase crystals sprinkled like Christmas cookie sugar on translucent, white, 0.5 to 1.0cm Calcite crystals. The second Dioptase generation consists of four, striking, deep emerald green, lustrous crystals ranging between 0.3 to 1.4cm in length isolated locally on the white Calcite and the sugary Dioptase. A dramatic small cabinet piece with only very local, slight bruising to the Calcite, and the largest Dioptase has a tiny ding - acceptable for the size and showiness especially in this price range. Exceptional contrast!
