This is a major cabinet specimen worthy of any fine collection, a huge level above the usual sort of sulfur specimen you see these days. More obvious in person, this is a stunning specimen with an incredible, almost unique, metallic-lustrous sulfur crystallization that forms an interlinked display face of bright, gemmy crystals. I have only had one other specimen of this particular and unique style before, and seen another illustrated. The color is INTENSE and as saturated as I have ever seen in sulfur, but it is the LUSTER that makes this special, and dramatic. The entire specimen is a floater, complete all around, with the electric metallic sulfur crystals having grown upon an earlier core of deeper, orange-yellow massive sulfur and some associated sparkling white aragonite. It has almost no damage (at the bottom/base), which is remarkable given its size. This piece was in an old collection for decades. As good as the photos are, the piece is simply glowing with color in person and so saturated in color, that it is hard to get the camera to capture. It is THAT good. Joe Budd Photos.
