A sulfur and calcite specimen from a salt dome oil field in the Gulf Coast area of Texas. This is a 6.2 cm or 2.5 inches in diameter rotary drill core, probably drilled by an oil company. This core fragment recovered a well-developed vug lined with euhedral, lustrous sulfur crystals and snow-white, dogtooth calcite crystals.
