Attractive orange botryoidal crystallized mimetite across the top of matrix. Slight damage present as seen. Quite nice for the species and locality.The Haus Baden Mine near Sehringen and Badenweiler in the Black Forest region of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, is part of a historic mining district with roots stretching back to medieval or even ancient times. Geologically, the deposit is tied to the tectonic rifting of the Upper Rhine Graben during the Tertiary period, which created major fault systems. Hydrothermal activity along these fault zones formed prominent quartz veins and mineralized structures containing lead, silver, and iron ores. Mineralogically, the veins produced a variety of sulfide and secondary ore minerals typical of the Black Forest metallogenic province. Historically, mining operations at Haus Baden and surrounding sites fluctuated over the centuries, targeting various metal ores before eventually shifting to industrial minerals like gypsum in later periods.
