A classic and very good combination specimen from the 1960s finds at the Morro Velho gold mine of Brazil. Lustrous, bronze, tabular Cubanite crystals from 1.5 to 5 mm are richly and aesthetically scattered on the mounded matrix of transparent to translucent Dolomite rhombs all set off by one large, and several slightly smaller transparent to translucent Quartz crystals from 2 to 3.3 cm. Some of the Cubanites are beautifully iridescent and some show twinning. The piece is in excellent condition with only a few, tiny, barely discernible nicks on the top of the large Quartz crystal. An excellent example for the locality and the species from the classics collection of Dr. Steve Smale.
