Antique example for the species and locality, this comes with a previous old label as shown at the end of the video.Kambove, located in the Haut-Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a historic mining center situated within the heart of the Central African Copperbelt. Industrial mining operations in the area were originally established during the early colonial era under Belgian rule via the Union Miniere du Haut-Katanga, with major open-pit and underground exploitation ramping up significantly around 1959. Geologically, the district is hosted within Neoproterozoic sedimentary sequences of the Katanga Supergroup, consisting primarily of dolomitic shales, dolostones, and argillaceous rocks. These world-class sediment-hosted deposits formed through complex cycles of diagenetic and hydrothermal mineralization followed by later supergene remobilization. Mineralogically, the region is exceptionally rich in copper and cobalt, producing primary and secondary sulfide and oxide ores including chalcocite, chalcopyrite, bornite, and carrollite, alongside striking accessory phases like cobaltoan dolomite.
