Another incredible Optical Calcite from China, and this one is all about contrast, clarity, and character.

The Calcite is ridiculously gemmy—water-clear with next-level transparency and sharp crystal faces—while the dramatic black carbon creates an almost sculptural framework around the crystal. Under the light, subtle flashes and internal reflections come alive, making the clarity even more impressive.

I love specimens where two completely different visual elements collide like this: jet-black carbon against crystal-clear Calcite. Nature couldn’t have designed the contrast any better.

Total gem. Total eye candy.
