One of the world's most immediately recognizable of mineral classics, this excellent, small-cabinet Mimetite is from singular 1969 find at the the Congreso-Leon Mine in Mexico. The yellow-orange botryoidal clusters, with a surface texture not unlike that of cauliflower, range from several mm-size Mimetites (the minority) to larger clusters up the 1.8 cm across (the majority). The uniform and attractive color, as well as the extensive coverage over the 3-dimensional limonitic matrix, create a wonderful aesthetic - exactly what you want in one of these Mimetite specimens. What is even more exceptional is the luster. Move the piece around under the light and you can appreciate the mesmerizing shimmer that the high luster creates. It's really as fine a luster on this habit of Mimetite as you will find. A riveting, intense yellow-orange Mimetite miniature, from this important and one-time-only 1969 find at the Congreso-Leon Mine in Mexico. This Mexican Mimetite discovery was unique and now legendary, and this piece is one of the exceptional miniatures from that find!
