A very rich example of the rare copper-zinc mineral species from the best modern locality for the species, new finds in the Republic of Congo. This large mounded thumbnail specimen is an impactful display showing the hemispherical cluster upon a thin shard ot matrix of a lighter blue mineral: zincolibethenite. We had to look that one up as it is something so rare in specimen quality, we were not sure it was an approved new species. IMA approved in 2003 and named for its relationship to libethenite, "zincian libethenite" refers to zinc-rich variations of the copper phosphate mineral libethenite and is the phosphate analog to zincolivine, according to Mindat.org. From 2024-25 finds.
