Brilliant intense yellow lustrous skeletal crystals of native sulfur across the top of matrix. Attractive and in good condition.
A scepter quartz is a distinctive crystal growth habit where a secondary quartz crystal form grows over the top termination of an older, primary quartz prism, resembling a royal scepter. This phenomenon occurs during multi-stage hydrothermal crystallization events, where changes in the silica saturation, temperature, or flow rate of the fluids cause the younger generation of quartz to expand outward and grow preferentially on the tip of the original crystal rather than coating its entire length. Scepters can form with identical color variations or display contrasting zones, such as an amethyst or smoky quartz crown growing atop a colorless rock crystal stem.
