A most unusual white smithsonite from the famous Kelly Mine in Socorro Co., New Mexico. This mine is known worldwide for its gorgeous blue smithsonites, considered to be some of the species’ best – however colorless smithsonites from Kelly, such as this one, are very seldom seen. It is snow white with typical luster. I have never seen another one quite like this. Very unique – a must have for smithsonite, New Mexico, or oddity collectors! The Spanns note a possible Otavite inclusion.
