The Capelinha region of Brazil is known worldwide for producing some of the world’s finest specimens of titanite (aka sphene). First appearing in the 1980s, these gorgeous twinned titanites are still amongst the best and most recognizable examples for the species. This piece features numerous sharp gemmy twins atop a matrix of epidote and albite. Sweet!
