A true “holy grail” for quartz collectors – a Japan-Law Amethyst is a nearly mythical thing. Besides the famed Romero Amethyst twin from Veracruz, Mexico, there are very few examples known. This is a remarkable specimen in the fact that it has three japan law twins, with the prominent amethyst twin perched beautifully at the top. An extreme rarity.
Tonglushan Mine, China — a Cu-Fe-Au skarn locality known for peach to red calcite crystals and iridescent chalcopyrite balls, a top target for collectors.
