The recent finds of calcite at the Empire State No. 4 Mine in New York have redefined the standard for lavender calcite, and are considered to be some of the species’ best. These gemmy lustrous calcites created a huge stir that is still felt in the mineral world. Highly desirable! This specimen shows nice twinning. Incomplete on back, but displays well as pictured.
