A very nice old-time Frizington, England calcite with sharp, clear crystals to 2 cm. showing an interesting elongated, tapered scalenohedronal form. The crystals cover a vug in hematite, a classic association for the locale. A nice old-timer from an important European locale. This was in the collection of Harry W. Trudell (1879-1964), prominent Philadelphia collector and one of the founders of the American Mineralogist! Includes his label plus another label that *appears* to date this specimen to the late 1700s. Classic!
