Superb example of the highly sought-after pegmatite mineral, Hydroxylherderite, in the rarest color of crystals. Sharp and well-formed, this crystal is an uncommon sharp crystal nestled in contrasting matrix, and is 3.2 cm in size. It has a perfect balance and looks like it was just gently placed into a pillow of white blades. The lovely, mint-green color is the rarest of all colors for Hydroxylherderite, and the good luster and translucent-to-gemmy interior serve to highlight the color even more. This excellent single crystal is associated with two Quartz crystals and two books of Muscovite, and all are nicely displayed on a rich matrix of icy, bladed Cleavelandite clusters. As a bonus, the Hydroxylherderite has excellent lavender fluorescence. Green Hydroxylherderites from Pakistan are legendary, and this small-cabinet specimen is but one of the many wonderful specimens of many species that have been exposed by the complex geology of the Himalaya mountains region.
