There are a few localities in the world that produce really fine purple Creedites. The Santa Eulalia area in Mexico and the Akchatau Mine in Kazakhstan come to mind, but in recent years we've seen some really eye-catching examples coming out of the Qinglong Mine in China. This small-cabinet piece is uncommon, composed of botryoids (up to 2.5 cm across) of sparkling, microcrystalline lavender Creedite sitting on oxidized matrix. The piece is quite attractive, and it's difficult to find pieces with this color and size from Qinglong. Keep in mind that purple is a rare color for Creedite, as most other examples are either white/colorless, or sometimes tan/orange. A very aesthetic example with good balance, for this style of Creedite crystals.
