Over a century old, it is a great example of the superb-quality Azurites from the famous Czar Mine in Bisbee: a very fine, doubly-terminated, royal-blue Azurite crystal that is a highly-lustrous, low-profile version of the famous 'Azurite Rose'. This old locality was a major copper producer in the early 1900s, connected to the Copper Queen Mine with a deep shaft that ran well over 400 feet underground. Today it is still one of the most desirable historic mineral localities for collectors. This is a near-perfect, pristine, historic thumbnail from one of the most famous mines on the planet, and one of the single most recognizable and desirable styles of crystallization for Azurite as a species.
