Absolutely stunning example of a topaz from this obscure and rare locality, more commonly known for its aquamarine. Topaz are known from Madagascar but examples like this come out, I am told, less than once every five years. In addition to its sharp crystalline form (most are water worn) it has good sherry coloration and is large at 80 x 95 x 55mm. Any apparent imperfections are due to the way it grew within the pegmatite from which it was found. Tony H Gill photo and collection. #T135
