The distinctive, bubbly, almost globular habit, and striking golden yellow-orange colour of the famous 1968/1969 find of Mimetite at San Pedro Corralitos, in Chihuahua is an icon of Mexican mineralogy. Little did Benny Fenn know, that when he discovered this pocket and sold the specimens in Tucson 1969, that no other comparable pockets would be found. Of that original discovery, just a few specimens made the grade as undamaged, with a colour saturation unrepeated in botryoidal Mimetite the world over, and with a shimmering velvety lustre. This great sized, small cabinet display specimen from that iconic find has the aesthetics too, to really excel at the highest level.
