Truly exceptional aesthetics and an elegant purple color highlight this grouping of two interconnected sprays of transparent, glassy, lustrous Amethyst. This is from older finds of the 1980s, which still have the best color seen, compared to modern finds here. It is an old classic, in a quality that puts it in the top percentile of this material in the size class. They are recognizable, distinct in style from all other Amethyst discoveries. This piece has all the qualities that make it so. The well-defined Amethyst crystals are nicely balanced with sufficient individual separation showcasing the sharp upright prismatic crystals. The color has dazzling purple hues with a gem-quality transparency throughout the upper half of the crystals. When displayed under lighting, the piece shows a lovely internal radiance throughout. The crystals mostly exhibit a trigonal habit with the largest crystal measuring 1.6 cm wide and 6.4 cm tall. The piece is in excellent condition with clean terminations on all Amethyst crystals except one angled crystal in the back with a slight termination chip. The intergrown nature of the sprays and how they formed, as Amethyst from one side have grown through crystals from the other grouping is fascinating.
