Cerussite with Baryte
Unknown Owner
This cabinet sized Cerussite and Baryte specimen from the Mibladen Mining District in Morocco is really rather nice. Hosted by a thin plate-like piece of matrix the upper surface is carpeted in a combination of well-formed Cerussite and Baryte crystals. The Baryte crystals are a soft pink colour and comprise rounded cockcomb aggregates made up of parallel bladed crystals. These aggregates reach 1.2 cm across. The Cerussite, forms wonderful somewhat bipyramidal cyclic twinned crystals with a glossy yet etched lustre on their surfaces. These crystals exceptionally reach 1.4 cm across. The combination of the two species makes for an attractive display.
