This is a really fine display specimen of the classic 'straw' Cerussite found at the Broken Hill mines in New South Wales, Australia. Forming a lovely small cabinet-sized aggregate of slightly divergent elongated white to very pale cream coloured Cerussite crystals this piece displays extremely well when supported in an upright position. Added to this, a subtle light dusting of greyish metallic Pyrite sparsely covers two sides of the specimen, giving it a darker appearance, and tiny sulphur-yellow Mimetite (or perhaps Pyromorphite) crystals are sparsely scattered upon the surface too. The longest Cerussite crystals reach over 5.5 cm in length. There are a couple of minor contacts to the ends of Cerussite crystal groups, but these are not visible from the preferred display direction. Overall, a really nice display example of this classic form of Cerussite from Broken Hill.
