Tucson, Arizona, USADescribed on the previous collectors label as a "reticulated Cerussite cross" this aggregate of impressively large Cerussite crystals comes from the famous Broken Hill mines in New South Wales, Australia. The mines at Broken Hill produced many impressive forms of Cerussite crystals and crystal aggregates. This specimen features a 6.4 cm long bladed to wedge-shaped Cerussite crystal. These were sometimes called arrowhead crystals. On this piece the Cerussite crystals are coated with a sparkling layer of colourless microcrystals which appear to be Anglesite. Dark grey areas of residual primary Galena can be seen. There is some light bruising to the Cerussite and the terminations of the larger crystals are incomplete from where Galena is included, or where they have grown in contact with other crystals, but this is still a very impressive crystallized Cerussite for this classic occurrence.
