Erythrite
Unknown Owner
Bou Azzer in Ouarzazate Province, Morocco has long been known as the source of the world's finest Erythrite crystals but the days of endless fine specimens like seen during the 1990s are long gone. Now, we are resigned to the recycling of older collections. This cabinet-sized matrix specimen from the collection of Nick Hawes and prior to that Christian Rewitzer, has an excellent coverage of smaller but extremely glossy bright purple bladed monoclinic Erythrite crystals. It is colourful without, but even more beautiful with magnification, showing how world-class this material from Bou Azzer really is.
