This delicate and beautiful cluster of classic, highly elongated, toffee- to burnt orange coloured Mimetite crystals from Tsumeb mine is an exceptionally aesthetic display of this all-time great form of Mimetite. The individual doubly-terminated tapering crystals reach 2.2 cm in length and are glassy and 'stepped' along their length with subtle colour zoning. Hexagonal in outline, these crystals continue to taper right to a point. There are three or four 'main' larger crystals about which many tiny additional Mimetite crystals are clustered, holding the larger crystals together with a small piece of white matrix present too. The largest Mimetite crystal has one slightly chipped termination, but is still an impressive crystal of this rare habit. A significant Tsumeb Mimetite miniature.
