This remarkable Cornish Galena specimen is from the little known Chiverton mines, east-southeast of Perranporth. It is extremely well crystallized, comprising an aggregate of cubes exceptionally to 5 cm on edge, with most over 2 cm across. The crystals are in remarkable condition with very little contact damage to be seen and a fine historic patina. A crack can been seen running through the specimen, but the specimen appears to be solid. A thin layer of Quartz crystals, sub mm in size, partially coats a small number of the Galena crystals and minor Chalcopyrite is present within the matrix. The question is, have you ever seen another as good? Ex Tony Ellis collection. Due to its weight additional postage charges will apply.
