Always small, the gemmy, sherry-coloured Topaz crystals found at Thomas Range in Juab County, Utah, USA are crystallographic wonders, appearing like faceted gemstones. This superb small miniature specimen is a divergent, star-burst, of prismatic Topaz crystals, some gemmy, others totally included. The three or four transparent, sherry coloured crystals, which reach up to 1.2 cm in length, also have minor inclusions but these form fascinating wispy patterns. Additionally, a tiny twinned cubic Bixbyite crystal (2 mm across the twin) sits near to the base of one of the gemmy Topaz crystals and a few platy specular Hematite crystals are evident too. Under magnification this is a beautiful piece and a fine display of this classic form of Topaz.
