Lazurite on Calcite

Locality: Sar-e-Sang, Kuran wa Munjan District, Badakhshan, Afghanistan
Remarkable both for its size (3 x 2.9 cm) and its crystallographic perfection. The faces are crisp and undistorted. The color is excellent, and the arrangement on the calcite matrix is flawless. A truly aesthetic specimen, a classic of mineralogy.
Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.
The mineral is not glued to the base (flexible sealant).
