A classic example of the famous Michigan Silvers, which have filled collectors cases since the late 1800s. This is a beautiful Native Silver "tree" with elongate crystals from the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. This incredibly artistic, silvery metallic piece with a wonderful patina comes to us from the Paul Seel collection and features numerous, spinel-twinned Silver formations. There are at least a half dozen, larger, complex, elongate Silver crystals on this piece that range in size from 1 to 4 cm, and then numerous, smaller, compound Silver crystals intergrown with the larger ones. A couple of the larger crystals are in near-parallel growth, others more divergent and a couple in random growth orientations. It is simply a pretty and elegant fine miniature and a fine Silver specimen of competitive quality. The specimen was likely obtained in the early 1900s as they were coming out, and were also available from a few old collections (then, as now, aesthetic examples were scarce!).
