Dimensions: 3.3 x 2.1 x 2.5cm Location: Pein-Pyit, Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar (Burma) The color is a very deep red, a beautiful ruby red, typical of the finest Burmese spinels from Mogok, far superior to those from Vietnam (which are pinker and much less gem-quality). The gem quality, the brilliance—everything is combined here in this crystal resting on its calcite matrix. This type of specimen is becoming quite rare on the market, and prices often remain prohibitive. A mineralogical gem for a display case! (Crystal size: 1.1 x 1 cm) Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen. The mineral is not glued to the base (flexible sealant).
