Situated in the far southwest of Germany, the ancient Haus Baden lead mine is well-known for secondary lead sulphate and sulphite species but usually as microcrystals. This superb large Anglesite crystal on a little residual Galena and Quartz matrix is exceptional for the locality, with crystallized white to pale cream coloured Anglesite overgrowing and altering from the primary Galena core, but at one end of this miniature-sized specimen a much larger, 1.7 cm long Anglesite crystal extends outwards. This crystal is quite rounded in form and has some wear to its edges, but is huge for a German Anglesite. Ex Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) Collection.
