Fluocerite-(Ce) with Feldspar$1,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This relatively aesthetic display specimen hosts a single, relatively large fluocerite-(Ce) crystal with feldspar from the Little Patsy Pegmatite in the South Platte pegmatite district, Colorado. Fluocerite-(Ce) is a rare cerium fluoride and the name is in allusion to its composition. This particular locality is known for the occurrence and quality of the crystals found here; although this would be considered large and beautiful compared to most. This piece consists of what looks like two, yellowish crystals in parallel growth frozen in a pinkish feldspar matrix. The best exposed, essentially complete crystal measures 2.5 cm in length and is juxtaposed to a similar, but incomplete, crystal. The luster is dull and the edges are somewhat rounded and the faces are obvious and moderately well-developed. It is a very good matrix example for the species! Ex. Paul Stahl collection. Probably a historic specimen as Paul got into many old collections, although sadly the history is lost with his passing.
