Sparkling red crystals of vanadinite averaging 0.2 cm in size across a breccia matrix. In good condition. Calcite is present as well.The Apache Mine is located in the Globe-Miami Mining District of Gila County, Arizona. Geologically, it is a lead-silver-vanadium deposit hosted within the Precambrian Mescal Limestone of the Apache Group. The mineralization formed through the circulation of hydrothermal fluids along fault zones and fractures, followed by a prolonged period of secondary oxidation. Historically, the mine was worked primarily for its lead and silver content during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but it became a favorite destination for mineral collectors in the mid-1900s. The site is situated in a rugged desert landscape where the arid climate facilitated the formation of spectacular secondary oxide and vanadate minerals in the upper portions of the ore body.
