Attractive cluster of lustrous tabular butterscotch wulfenite crystals without matrix. This is a floater with no points of attachment and complete all around. In very good condition. The La Morita Mine, located in Chihuahua, Mexico, is a lesser known but important locality within a region rich in polymetallic mineral deposits. Mining in the area has focused on lead and associated metals hosted in carbonate rocks, where hydrothermal processes created mineralized zones later altered by oxidation. Although not a major producer on an industrial scale, the mine has gained recognition among collectors for its outstanding wulfenite specimens. The wulfenite from La Morita typically occurs as thin tabular crystals with a distinctive butterscotch color and high luster, often forming isolated plates or small clusters on matrix. These crystals developed in the oxidized zone of the deposit, where lead bearing minerals were altered and molybdenum was incorporated into the crystal structure. Due to their color and sharp crystal form, wulfenite specimens from La Morita are considered highly desirable and are regarded as among the finest examples from Mexico.
