Full of character, this cabinet-sized Calcite from the world-famous Tsumeb mine in Namibia has the added heritage of coming from the generations-old Weyand Collection within Tsumeb itself. Comprising a sculptural arrangement, or cityscape, of sharp-edged stepped glossy rhombic crystals, these crystals are included with reddish iron oxides (Hematite) producing a fascinating internal zonation in colour. Externally, the crystals present marvellous surface textures and detail too, inviting one in to gaze in wonder at its crystallographic delights. Most of these crystals are in perfect condition but there are some incomplete corners around the periphery of the piece. Still, this is a treasure of a Calcite from Tsumeb.
