When one thinks of the finest, large, naturally intense blue Topaz crystals the Virgem da Lapa deposit in Minas Gerais state, Brazil instantly comes to mind. This cabinet-sized individual off-matrix crystal is a beautiful natural wonder. It is a complete, classic, wedge-shaped termination but not only that its crystal faces are really well-defined and have virtually no scratches or chips. At 8 cm across in its longest direction it is big and with its gemmy pale aquamarine blue colour it really catches ones attention. It has transparent, gemmy parts, but also more inclusion-rich translucent internal areas, but the significance of this piece is its size and perfect shape as a natural blue Topaz crystal. This classic comes from an older collection.
