Large impressive amber colored complex crystal grouping of calcite with little attached matrix. Complete all around, in great condition. From the 1970s.The Berry Materials Quarry near North Vernon in Jennings County, Indiana, is a limestone quarry that has become a popular collecting site for mineral enthusiasts. The quarry exposes Silurian age carbonate rocks that contain cavities and vugs where minerals have formed. Collectors have found specimens such as calcite, fluorite, sphalerite, and other minerals in these openings. The locality is valued for accessible collecting and the occurrence of well formed crystals within the limestone host rock.
