Proustite on Calcite$4,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Specimens of larger, visible Proustite, are extremely rare from Měděnec (Kupferberg) in the Krušné Hory Mts, Ústí Region, Bohemia, Czechia. This small cabinet-sized specimen is a cracker, featuring a line of at least 11 composite Proustite crystals along the surface of a bed of bladed, grey, Pyrite-included Calcite crystals on top of a thicker (1.5 to 2.5 cm) layer of massive grey to pinkish Calcite with inclusions of Proustite and Pyrite. The Proustite crystals, which reach up to 7 mm in length, are seed-like in shape, but composed of many stepped, or aligned crystals. They are opaque and deep purple-red in colour with a dull resinous surface lustre. A very distinctive piece, with a very unusual crystal habit of Proustite. Ex Martin Bohaty Collection.
