Forming a complete small vein section, this large miniature specimen is a great old-time piece from Schneeberg in Saxony, Germany. The centre of the vein contains cavities lined with small (mm size) silvery grey Skutterudite crystals and blood red Proustite crystals flanked by cream coloured rhombs of Dolomite and with an outer zone of white Quartz disseminated with Pyrite. To add to its quality it is accompanied by an old handwritten label which shows a slight historic mis-identification. This is because it talks of "Glanzerz", an early German name for Acanthite which has similar shaped crystals to Skutterudite, along with Rothgiltigerz, or what we now call Proustite.
