Copper
A fine large example of what is known as a copper skull. In great condition. These unusual copper skull specimens developed when native copper grew in cavities within basalt or conglomerate rock and replaced earlier minerals or organic material. During growth the copper sometimes filled hollow spaces or irregular pockets, producing rounded or hollow shapes that resemble small skull like forms.
